ABOUTDEWAYNE QUEEN

Dewayne Queen, a native of Baltimore, has been involved in the events and media production industries for nearly 20 years. Known for his innovative approach and fiscal responsibility, Queen is a highly trusted and respected professional with a national impact. In addition to his professional work, he is a community leader who fights for equitable access both individually and as a board member for several organizations.

From 2003 to 2007, while living in New Orleans, Queen served as head production assistant for the Essence Music Festival main stage. In this role, he was primarily responsible for handling the logistics and credentials for artists and celebrities who attended and performed during the celebration. In 2011, Queen took a hiatus from production work to explore another passion in front of the camera, acting. Unable to stay away from production, he returned to life behind the camera. During the 2018 Essence Music Festival, he worked for the main stage at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

In 2018, after fully accepting his call to event and production work, Queen founded Swank Arts & Entertainment. Initially, the company focused on providing the Black community with access to high-quality, exceptional services. Over the years, the company’s clientele shifted and now represents the full diversity of American society. The growth has taken the SWANK experience across the United States!
